PRODUCTION OPERATIVE

LOCATION: Trafford Park, Manchester

COMPANY: ACP (CONCRETE) Limited. A subsidiary of Thomas Armstrong (Holdings) Limited

 

We are seeking to recruit a Production Operative to work at our Trafford Park site, Stretford Manchester, M17 1PB.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company working in the manufacturing of precast, pre-stressed concrete floor beams. 


Main duties include

Operating in a busy production facility and working on a production line to ensure the timely and efficient manufacture of product. Requiring enthusiastic applicants who enjoy working in a manufacturing environment and working as part of a team who are reliable, committed, and hardworking.

(Applicants who have a ticket for Fork Lift Truck Operations would be advantageous

 

Hours of work: 

7:30am – 16:15pm Monday to Friday - basic 37.5 hours per week

You will be required to work overtime as and when required, during busy times.

 

Rate of pay: in line with National minimum wage + daily attendance bonus

 

Holiday entitlement: 21 days + bank holidays                                  

Experience preferred but not essential as full training will be given on commencement.

PRODUCTION/GENERAL PLANT OPERATIVE-FLT, DUMPER, LOADING SHOVEL OPERATOR

 

LOCATION: Overby Quarry near Aspatria, Cumbria, CA7 4NF

We are seeking to recruit a PRODUCTION/GENERAL PLANT OPERATIVE-FLT, DUMPER, LOADING SHOVEL OPERATOR

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company working in the manufacturing of pre-packed aggregates.

 

Work includes operating in a busy production facility and working to ensure the timely and efficient manufacture and delivery of the product.

 

Main duties include: General Operative/ Fork Lift Truck, Dumper, Loading Shovel Operator/ Labourer

 

Normal hours of work:  7:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday (30 minutes unpaid lunch break).  39 hours paid at basic rate and remainder at overtime rate.

 

Holiday entitlement: 21 days annual holiday plus Statutory Bank Holidays.

 

You will be required to work overtime as and when necessary during busy times.

 

In return, we offer a competitive rate of pay plus weekly production bonus.

LOCATION: Aintree, Liverpool

We are seeking to recruit permanent, full time Block Plant Production Operative to work at our site based at Aintree, Liverpool.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company working in the manufacturing of specialist concrete block products.

 

Work includes operating in a busy production facility and working on a production line to ensure the timely and efficient manufacture of product.

 

Main duties include:  Production Operative / Labourer

 

Hours of work are on a shift basis:

Shift 1                  Monday to Friday           05:30 – 14:00

                             Saturday                           07:00 – 12:00

 

Shift 2                  Monday to Friday           13:45 – 22:30

 

Overtime is available as and when necessary to help during busy times.

 

In return we offer a competitive hourly rate (paid weekly) plus shift allowance and daily production bonus.

Sales Administrator


LOCATION: Aintree, Liverpool

Thomas Armstrong (Concrete Blocks) Ltd are the leading manufacturer of building products and are looking to recruit an experienced Sales Administrator /Customer Service Support to strengthen their existing team.  Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be required to assist in providing an effective administrative support service for the busy Sales Office at our Aintree Plant, Liverpool.

 

Competitive salary dependent on skills, experience/knowledge and qualifications.

 

This is a full time permanent position working Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:00 per week.

 

Main duties will include:

  • Provide commercial and administrative support as directed;
  • Answering telephone calls and taking orders from customers;
  • Maintain statistical and commercial data, including inputting and processing information;
  • Respond to customer enquiries whenever appropriate;
  • Handling complaints and resolving queries;
  • Working to deadlines.

 

An excellent communicator with keen eye for detail, the ideal candidate will enjoy working within a team, be willing to make decisions taking ownership to resolve client queries, have previous experience working to pressurised deadlines using Microsoft Office packages such as Excel gained in a customer service environment.  Knowledge of manufacturing/production processes is preferred, although not essential as training will be provided.

HGV CLASS 1 Batch Plant DRIVER 

LOCATION: Workington, Cumbria

COMPANY: ACP (Concrete) Ltd, A subsidiary of Thomas Armstrong (Holdings) Limited

 

We are looking for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver required to work out of our Lakes Road Production Plant, Workington.

 

You will need to have held your HGV Class 1 for at least 1 year and have no major infringements on your licence.

 

  • You will need to complete a driving assessment.
  • Full Time, Permanent role – 39+ hours per week (Mon - Fri) 
  • Opportunity to work Saturday mornings (time and a half) 
  • 21 days holiday per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays. 
  • Salary dependent on skills, qualifications and experience.

Work includes operating in a busy production facility and working on a production line to ensure the timely and efficient manufacture of product.

 

Main duties include: Production Operative/ Fork Lift Truck / Labourer

 

Hours of work: 6am – 2pm and 2pm - 10pm (shift pattern under alternate weeks)

You will be required to work overtime as and when necessary during busy times.

SALES ESTIMATOR 

LOCATION: Uttoxeter, Staffordshire

ACP (Concrete) Ltd, part of the Thomas Armstrong Group, is a specialist pre-stressed and pre-cast concrete products manufacturer in the UK. The Thomas Armstrong Group have continually grown and developed as a business since 1830. We believe the key to this success is ensuring that the very best standards of quality and high levels of customer service are at the forefront of our business.

We are currently looking for a dedicated, reliable and enthusiastic person to join our small specialist team based at Uttoxeter Business Park in Uttoxeter. 

Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, the Sales Estimator will be a key collaborator for new and existing relationships for estimating, bidding and bespoke products providing an advanced manufacturing solution that delivers high-quality and cost-effective products.

As Sales Estimator you will be responsible for analysing leads and ensuring there is a full understanding of the customer requirements.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Creation of accurate and timely quotes;
  • Communicate with the client to clarify any points that are not clear;
  • Build and cost the quote (on the in-house configurator system);
  • Send the quote to the customer by email;
  • Record all relevant information in the company system and set up follow ups;
  • Follow up the quote at regular intervals by phone or email to ensure the deal is closed and won in a timely manner;
  • Undertake any revisions and changes as per the customer request;
  • Prepare final order confirmation and send to customer for approval;
  • Discuss with the customer payment options and agree the best way forward;
  • Care for the customer and the enquiry through from receiving the lead to order;
  • Liaise with our designers and factory for manufacture.

 

Skills, attributes and qualifications:

  • Good telephone manner and professional approach to customers;
  • Good written/administration skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • An basic understanding of estimation tools and techniques (i.e. the processes of estimating resources, durations and costs);
  • Technically minded – desirable;
  • Experience in interacting with customers in a sales/estimating environment;
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written;
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills;
  • Commercially aware;
  • Some sort of CAD training or experience – desirable;
  • Full driving licence.
