Work Experience Placements

Work experience offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to taste and gain a greater insight into a potential profession or field. This valuable experience can help you to determine your future career path, particularly if you are uncertain or undecided between different occupations or areas.

In competitive industries, it can also help you to gain valuable skills and qualities to make you stand out against other individuals, particularly when you are looking to impress future employers and securing a job.

Our Work Experience Placements

Throughout the Thomas Armstrong Group we offer various work experience placements to motivated individuals. We work closely with local secondary schools, colleges and other further education institutions to organise these work opportunities, but we also accept individual ‘Letters of Approach’.

Due to the diversity of our company, there is a great opportunity to gain a broad range of skills and insight into the construction and manufacturing industry. Each placement is tailored to reflect the individual’s area/s of interest where possible which can include off site visits.

Our work experience placements are available across our Head Office and all subsidiary companies including construction, precast concrete, concrete blocks, timber, aggregates and cement. Specialist opportunities can include our joinery workshop and departments such as Sales, Design, Surveying, Mechanics, Project Management and Accountancy.

Office-based roles are also available including support services at our Head Office such as as Administration, Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR), Finance and Accountancy.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer work experience in operative roles and at our plant factories.
