Our Apprenticeship Programme

Apprenticeships are open and designed for everyone not just young people. These programs offer a great opportunity to gain hands on, valuable paid experience within your chosen profession or field; whilst being given the chance to learn through flexible, structured training to meet the employers needs.

When our apprenticeships arise, there is a great opportunity to gain a broad range of skills and insight into all aspects of the construction and manufacturing industry, due to our company’s diversity.

Depending on our business requirements, Apprenticeship Programmes can be available across all our Head Office and subsidiary companies including construction, precast concrete, concrete blocks, timber, aggregates and cement. Specialist opportunities can include our joinery workshop and departments such as Sales, Design, Surveying, Mechanics, Project Management and Accountancy.

Office-based roles are also available including support services at our Head Office such as as Administration, Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR), Finance and Accountancy.

As an employee, you are entitled to a contract of employment and annual leave. We are proud that this program gives local people the opportunity of permanent employment within a well-regarded, professional construction company, particularly if you are already studying but don’t have a sponsor.

The Thomas Armstrong Group also work closely with local training providers such as Gen2, SP Training and Lakes College.

How to Apply

We offer Apprenticeships on an ad-hoc basis as this is driven by our business requirements.

When an Apprenticeship opportunity arises, you would apply through the relevant job vacancy posted on our Job Board on the Careers section of our website. Like any other job application, you will be required to send a copy of your CV and Covering Letter highlighting your key experience, strengths, and skills. We also advertise via other media such as social media and local job boards, so it is important to sign up for regular notifications.

However as mentioned already we also work closely with local training providers so please ensure you remain in contact with your tutor or careers department for the latest opportunities.

The Thomas Armstrong Group is an equal opportunities recruiter, and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation, or age. We ensure throughout all stages of the recruitment process we take a fair, honest and confidential approach at all times.
