Hours: Mon–Thu 8:00–16:30, Fri 8:00–16:00

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We’re looking for a proactive Health & Safety Manager with strong construction experience to help drive a positive safety culture across our business. In this key role, you’ll carry out monthly site inspections, support teams to close out actions, and ensure full compliance with legislation, company policies and industry best practice.

You’ll work closely with site and operational teams, offering practical guidance, coaching and mentoring to continuously improve standards. You will also support the Group H&S Director on wider safety initiatives and departmental projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular site safety inspections and audits.
  • Provide clear, professional H&S advice to managers and site teams.
  • Ensure legal and policy compliance, keeping up to date with legislation.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, reporting as required.
  • Review Construction Phase Plans when acting as Client under CDM.
  • Liaise with external regulators (e.g., HSE, EA).
  • Support and deliver training, coaching and safety improvements.
  • Promote a strong, positive safety culture across all sites.
  • Share best practice and lessons learned.

Skills & Experience

  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Construction or civil engineering background.
  • IOSH membership.
  • Strong communication, influencing and problem solving skills.
  • Confident with IT systems and reporting tools.
  • Ability to build relationships and motivate others.
