CON125 - Document Controller
Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Limited is seeking a proactive and experienced Document Controller to join our team on an 18 month fixed term contract, working on a specific, time-bound project at the Port of Workington.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within a well-established and highly respected construction company. The successful applicant will be responsible for the effective control and management of all project documentation, supporting successful project delivery, smooth site operations and compliance with industry standards.
Working Hours
39 hours per week (including a 30 minute unpaid break):
• Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
• Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
Key Responsibilities
Document Management
• Maintain, organise and control all project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications and reports
• Manage document revisions and version control
• Create and maintain document registers and logs
Compliance and Quality Control
• Ensure all documentation complies with internal procedures and external regulations
• Undertake quality checks to confirm accuracy, formatting and compliance with company standards
Collaboration and Communication
• Act as the main point of contact for document-related queries
• Circulate documentation for review, approval or acceptance
• Distribute approved documents to relevant stakeholders, ensuring timely access to information
Document Security and Confidentiality
• Ensure documentation is stored securely and confidential information is protected
• Back up and archive project documentation to prevent data loss
Project Support
• Provide administrative support to project teams, including preparation of documents for meetings, reviews and audits
• Track document submissions and ensure all deliverables are issued on time
Skills and Experience Required
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage large volumes of documentation accurately
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience using document management systems (e.g. Microsoft SharePoint or similar)
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders

Additional Information
Ability to commute/relocate:
• Must be able to reliably commute to, or relocate to, Workington (CA14) prior to starting
Work authorisation:
• Right to work in the United Kingdom (required)
