Retirement Senior Estimator after 34 years

Today saw the retirement of Construction Department Senior Estimator Roger Pritchett after 34 years service with the company.  Over his time at Thomas Armstrong, Roger has carried out many roles very successfully and they include Site Manager, Surfacing Manager, Design Co-ordinator, Programmer etc. before spending his last 12 years working in the Estimating Department.

The photo was taken from his presentation where Roger is flanked either side by our MD David Atkinson and on his left and Estimating Director Steve Park on his right, he was presented with a cheque from the company and also a collection and vouchers etc. from his work colleagues.

Roger will be a big miss to the company but he is going to spend a lot of his newly acquired spare time trying to reduce his golf handicap and also completing the remaining Wainwright walks still to do, with his wife Dot.

We wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement

Employees Support Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoe Box Appeal

Thomas Armstrong are extremely proud of our supportive and kind-hearted employees.  In November and December, our staff (plus families & friends) have come together to donate gifts, presents, games, toiletries and sweets towards the Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoe Box Appeal.

Everyone’s generosity has been overwhelming!

Our caring and thoughtful staff donated 17 boxes of goodies for under-privileged children (both boys and girls), ranging from 3 to 14 years old, which were taken and dropped off at St. Michael’s Church in Workington yesterday by the Head Office HR Team.

Thank you so much, you are all shining stars and will make a huge difference to a child’s Christmas Day !

PROJECT UPDATE: Work begins outside Workington Leisure Centre

Great to see work progressing on our project outside Workington Leisure Centre to create a new events and activity space. Thanks to Thomas Armstrong Construction Ltd. for their work so far.

The funding for the project has come via ‘accelerated funding’ from the Government’s Towns Fund initiative. We have a bid in to the main fund for Workington for a range of regeneration projects which could see an investment of around £25m in the town. For more information about Workington Leisure Centre, click here.
