Thomas Armstrong Group Attends World of Work Event

Thomas Armstrong Group was delighted to recently participate in the World of Work event at West Lakes Academy. Designed for Year 9 students and hosted by Inspira, the event provided a fantastic platform for local employers to engage with students as they begin to explore their future career options.

Our HR Assistant, Jack McGregor, attended the session to represent the Group and share insights into the diverse world of construction.

It was a privilege to spend time with the students, discussing the vast array of career paths available within our industry. Many students were surprised to learn that construction offers much more than just on-site roles. We highlighted the wide range of professional opportunities available, including:

  • Engineering & Project Management
  • Human Resources & Finance
  • Site Management & Skilled Trades

What stood out most throughout the day was the curiosity and enthusiasm shown by the Year 9 cohort. The students asked brilliant, insightful questions regarding entry routes into the industry, day-to-day responsibilities of different roles, and which skills are most valued in a modern workplace.

At Thomas Armstrong Group, we believe events like these are vital. Connecting young people with real-world career paths provides them with the insight and confidence needed to navigate the possibilities ahead of them.

We would like to extend a big thank you to Inspira and West Lakes Academy for organising such a valuable event. We are proud to support the next generation as they start thinking about their futures and look forward to seeing many of them enter the industry in the years to come.
