Thomas Armstrong Plant, part of Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd, are looking for an enthusiastic and committed apprentice to join our vibrant and friendly team based in Workington (CA14 2DB).  You will work within our Plant Hire/Sales department and will be supported through your qualification with real experience to complement your learning.  ‍

Job Purpose:

Undertake a variety of plant assistant and warehouse work activities as required.

‍

Main Duties will include:

• Checking in and ordering stock (keeping a log of stock levels and pricing)
• Taking phone calls from customers and suppliers
• Serving on the trade counter
• Use IT applications and other relevant technology and systems
• Safely operate and handle equipment, machinery and vehicles, including Fork Lift Truck
• Helping in the workshop, PAT testing equipment (once over 18 yrs)
• Driving the delivery vehicle (once old enough)

Salary:

National Apprenticeship Wage is £5.28 per hour during first 12 months. (If 19 years old or over after 12 months, salary will increase to minimum wage for your age)

Working Week:

Monday to Friday 08:00 to 4.30 (30-minutes lunch per day)

• Where an apprentice has not already achieved Level 2 English and Maths, they must do so before taking the end-point assessment

Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a higher-level apprenticeship or full-time employment fo the right candidate.
