Throughout our history, Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Limited has constructed a large number and variety of living accommodation projects for Housing Associations.The success of these working relationships soon developed into Partnership agreements, and today we have agreements to construct new build and refurbishment projects for most of the principal Housing Associations in the North West of England and the Borders.

 

Home Group         

Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd has worked with the Home Group and its predecessors for, in excess of, 50 years over the North of England. In that time, Home has been rebranded from North Eastern Housing, to North Housing, to Home Housing and now to the Home Group.

Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd’s experience with the Home Group extends from New Build, refurbishment of houses and general maintenance of their housing stock. We have been Home’s Cumbria regional partnering contractor since 2004 and have recently been awarded the next 2 years partnering contract. Impact Housing Ltd

Impact Housing Association Ltd was formed in 1975 in Cleator Moor, Cumbria. Over the past 25 years, Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd has worked with Impact on Schemes in Cleator Moor, Whitehaven, Workington, Cockermouth, Maryport, Kendal, Ulverston, Boontown and many other locations in Cumbria. In 2000, Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd was awarded the contract to carry out works on the Salterbeck Estate, Workington, which Impact had acquired a year earlier from Allerdale Borough Council. This contract involved demolition, new build housing, refurbishment of existing housing and general environmental/remodelling of the estate. Work continued on this scheme for around 5 years. In 2006, Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd were awarded a 2 year NEET Partnering contract with Impact, to carry out Impact’s Construction works. In 2010 we were once again rewarded the NEET Partnering contract.  We continue to work closely with Impact. For further information visit their website www.impacthousing.org.uk

 

Derwent and Solway Housing

Derwent and Solway Housing were established to accept the transfer of homes from Allerdale Borough Council’s housing stock. The housing stock consists, in excess of 3000 no properties, mainly in the Allerdale area of Cumbria. Derwent and Solway is part of the Harvest Housing Group. Having completed the successful contract at Nether Place, Keswick (42 New Build houses), Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd is currently working on other schemes for the Housing Association.  Dumfries and Galloway Housing Association

DGHP (Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership) is Scotland’s second largest social landlord and was formed in April 2003. Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd has been working with DGHP over the last 6 years. This included contracts for kitchen and bathroom renewals for their housing stock. We have also carried out construction work for the housing association and look forward to working with them on future projects. For further information, visit their website www.dghp.org.uk

 

 

Eden Housing

Eden Housing Association was established in 1997 to accept the transfer of homes for Eden District Council. The majority of their stock is based in the Eden area of Cumbria, but they have expanded in recent years to cover a wider area of the Cumbrian region. Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd were awarded the two year NEET Partnering contract in 2005 and we have carried out New Build schemes at Melmerby, Tebay, Threlkeld, Glenridding, Penrith and Maryport to date. We are once again awarded the NEET Partnering scheme in 2010. Most recently we have completed an Extra Care Scheme for the Housing Association at Carlisle. Two Castles have been providing housing for over 40 years, throughout the North East, North West and Scotland. Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd have worked with Two Castles over the past 25 years, throughout Cumbria on New Build projects and refurbishments in Whitehaven, Egremont, Carlisle, Ulverston and many more locations.
