Environmental Policy
Thomas Armstrong (Concrete Blocks) Ltd is committed to preventing pollution and
to conducting its operational and business activities in an environmentally responsible
manner. We recognise the need to continually improve our operations wherever practical
to do so, in order to reduce our impact on the environment. To achieve these objectives,
the Company shall:
- Comply with and wherever possible exceed all applicable environmental legislation
and regulatory requirements. This includes any other applicable environmental
requirements relevant to its activities, products and services. This will be regularly
evaluated by the Company to ensure its compliance with such requirements.
- Identify and use materials and processes that reduce the risk of pollution.
- Identify and assess all significant environmental aspects
and wherever possible eliminate any processes with adverse environmental
impacts
- Promote conservation of natural resources through the efficient use of energy
and the minimisation of waste.
- Minimise discharges, emissions and waste and maximise recycling wherever possible.
- Source raw materials that have the minimum environmental impact from local sources
and use recycled material wherever possible.
- Set annual environmental objectives and targets against which to measure improvements
in environmental performance.
- Document procedures and continuously monitor progress in environmental performance
through regular measurement, review and audit and wherever possible utilising
a management system compliant with BS EN ISO 14001.
- Ensure that all company employees at all levels are made aware of environmental
issues through a combination of training, communication and awareness.
- Conduct our activities so as to maximise our influence on environmental good
practice.
- Take proactive measures to protect and preserve wildlife, flora and fauna in
their natural habitats.
Thomas Armstrong (Concrete Blocks) Limited shall participate in open consultation
with interested stakeholders and ensure effective communication of this Environmental
Policy to all those working for and on behalf of the Company.
