DISCLAIMER
The block and texture images are intended for indicative purposes only and actual textures and shades may vary between manufacturing locations. Please contact your regional sales office for further information and sample blocks. We advise the construction of sample panels on site as masonry appearance cannot be appreciated from individual blocks.
Airtec XL is our lowest weight and thermally best performing wall blocks in our entire Airtec block range, possessing a thermal conductivity value of only 0.09 W/mK - unique and unrivalled by any other aerated concrete block with a strength of 2.9 N/mm².
In common with all other Airtec Aerated blocks, they offer the very best possible dimensional tolerance category of 'Thin Layer Mortar B' (TLMB) but are perfectly suitable for conventional 10mm mortar joint construction. The inner leaf of Airtec XL blocks gives the builder the option of using a 75mm cavity, either partially-filled or fully-filled whilst still achieving a U-Value of 0.30 W/m²K.
All Airtec products are ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 14001 Environmentally certified and with the highest possible BES 6001 Responsible Sourcing rating of ‘Excellent’.
Our Aerated Concrete Wall Blocks are a cost-effective solution to the ever-increasingly stringent requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations. This allows the builder to minimise the amount of secondary insulation required to meet thermal regulations, as well as meeting the strength requirements of the very latest UK building codes.
Our Airtec Concrete blocks are available in a ‘Standard’ texture finish providing a plain-faced, smooth, cellular texture which is a suitable background for accepting renders and plasters.
In common with all aerated concrete in the UK, the surfaces of the building blocks may contain a random number of larger natural air bubbles/cells on the block surface due to an unavoidable consequence of the manufacturing process. These large cells are perfectly normal and are not a defect and do not detract from performance in any way. Although the blocks can be painted, we cannot guarantee that the surfaces will not contain some of these larger cells and we therefore do not recommend using Airtec for paint-grade or fair-faced applications.

Walled weight is for a single-leaf wall, plastered on both sides.
Sound Reduction Rw values are based on wall mass and assumes a plastered finish on both sides.
The block weights quoted above are approximate and include the typical additional weight from the moisture content.
Fire resistance periods to BS EN 1996-1-2 for a single-leaf, non load-bearing plastered wall. Based on the inclusion of conventional 10mm mortar joints.
