Thomas Armstrong (Concrete Blocks) Ltd are now manufacturing a new aerated concrete block designed for use in acoustic separating / party walls, in particular for use with Robust Standard Detail (RSD) party wall constructions. RSD constructions eliminate the requirement on the housebuilder to carry out costly and time-consuming pre-completion testing of the acoustic performance of the party wall in order to be approved by Building Control.

Airtec Party Wall blocks are available in a thickness of 100mm with a compressive strength of 3.6N/mm² and a minimum density of 600kg/m³.

 

In addition, our Airtec Standard 3.6N block now has an even better thermal conductivity value of 0.11 W/mK. This greatly increases the flexibility and convenience for the designer and builder as the thermal properties of a typical low-density aerated block and the compressive strength of a medium-density aerated block are combined into a single product!

 

Our BBA certificate 06/4309 is being currently updated to reflect these changes and will be available shortly.
